Natural Remedies for Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a scaly itchy skin condition that affects approximately 2-4% of the general population. It is usually characterized by patches of skin that are red due to inflammation with a mixture of white flaky scaly skin. The condition is hereditary but it has environmental triggers. Some are obesity, excessive alcohol use, smoking (especially cigarettes) and stress. There are also many prescription drugs that can trigger psoriasis. It is an auto-immune condition where the immune system cells mistake skin components as being something foreign and mount an immunological attack. Mainstream treatments focus on immune-suppressants which are highly toxic and predispose one to infections and cancers. But there are natural remedies for psoriasis

use proper sunscreen to prevent skin burning

One effective method is phototherapy. UV rays from sunlight or from artificial lighting in solariums is quite effective in many cases. Of course you should use proper sunscreen to prevent skin burning, which can in itself be dangerous. Anti-inflammatory fish oils containing DHA and EPA are also highly effective in many cases. They also add health benefits to your cardiovascular system. Probiotics, which have a positive impact on balancing the immune system, can also be effective. Finally, there are many natural topical creams and oils which can bring substantial relief. Many of them contain anti-inflammatory ingredients in the form of natural oils as well as ingredients that provide a moisturizing effect and hydration. Try these natural remedies for psoriasis first before resorting to highly toxic prescription medications.

These are my tips on how to get rid of Psoriasis symptoms.
